The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, MSG Jack Saum, RA06555549, who died in the service of his country on August 4th, 1950 in South Korea. The cause of death was listed as MIA to KIA. At the time of his death Jack was 44 years of age. He was from Tualatin, Oregon. Jack's Military Occupation Specialty was 1736-Armored Intelligence Chief.

The decorations earned by MSG Jack Saum include: the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.


Jack was a member of HQ 2nd Bn and was also a WWII veteran.

Buried in the Willamette National Cemetery 11800 SE Scott Blvd in Portland, OR. Section A Site 458.
