The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PV2 Gregorio Blas Salas, RA10105854, who died in the service of his country on January 7th, 1953 in North Korea, Iron Triangle. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Gregorio was 19 years of age. Gregorio's Military Occupation Specialty was 1745-Light Weapons Infantry Leader.

The decorations earned by PV2 Gregorio Blas Salas include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.


Private Salas was a member of the 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on January 7, 1953. Private Salas was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

Greg was from Guam, his dream was to someday go to the mainland U.S. At the time he entered the Army he took his basic in Hawaii which was not a State. He was my friend and after all these years I cherish his memory. (Robert J Jacobsen)
