The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC Curtis Wayne Stookey, who died in the service of his country on January 16th, 1951 in South Korea. The cause of death was listed as Other Causes (Non-Hostile). At the time of his death Curtis was 19 years of age. He was from Stockton, Oklahoma.

The decorations earned by PFC Curtis Wayne Stookey include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.


Private First Class Stookey was a member of Company E, 2nd Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He died of other causes on January 16, 1951 at Chongju, South Korea. Private First Class Stookey was awarded the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
