The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC Richard Allen Boyd, who died in the service of his country on February 15th, 1952 in North Korea. The cause of death was listed as Other Casues (Non-Hostile). At the time of his death Richard was 19 years of age. He was from Watsonville, California.

The decorations earned by PFC Richard Allen Boyd include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.


Private First Class Boyd was a member of the Heavy Mortar Team, Company H, 2nd Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He died of other causes on February 15, 1952 near Hwachon, North Korea. Private First Class Boyd was awarded the Combat Infantrymans Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

Boyd was accidentally shot by another soldier.
