The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, SGT John P. Rodriquez, who died in the service of his country on May 21st, 1944 in New Caledonia. The cause of death was listed as A Truck Crash.

The decorations earned by SGT John P. Rodriquez include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.


After Vella Lavella, the Regiment was transferred on 10 November 1943 to New Zealand for regrouping and training. During this period, John Rodriquez was killed in a truck crash. He was a member of the 3rd Platoon-3rd Squad.
