The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, CPL Weldon R. Jones, 06291139, who died in the service of his country on March 20th, 1943 in Guadalcanal. The cause of death was listed as DOW. At the time of his death Weldon was 20 years of age. He was from Berthoud, Colorado.

The decorations earned by CPL Weldon R. Jones include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.


Weldon was wounded January 19 1943, and sent stateside February 26 1943 to Bushnell General Hospital, Denver, CO.
