The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, SGT Carl Ray Mosson, who died in the service of his country on December 22nd, 1950 in South Korea. The cause of death was listed as KIA-DOW. At the time of his death Carl was 23 years of age. He was from Penfield, Illinois.

The decorations earned by SGT Carl Ray Mosson include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.


BURIAL LOCATION:FRANKEBERGER CEMETERY, ELLSWORTH, IL

Comments: Sergeant Mosson was a member of the 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was wounded by the enemy in South Korea on September 11, 1950 and returned to duty on October 2, 1950. He was seriously wounded again on December 21, 1950 and died of those wounds the following day.
