The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC Eugene Bockhorn, RA17266308, who died in the service of his country on August 19th, 1950 in South Korea. The cause of death was listed as MIA to KIA. At the time of his death Eugene was 22 years of age. He was from Campbell Hill, Illinois. Eugene's Military Occupation Specialty was 861-Surgical Technician.

The decorations earned by PFC Eugene Bockhorn include: the Combat Medical Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.


Private First Class Bockhorn was a medic with the Medical Company, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while tending his wounded comrades in South Korea on August 19, 1950. He was a farmer prior to entering service.

Pfc. U.S. Army, RA17266308, Korean War-Pfc. Bockhorn was killed in action by small arms fire on 8-19-1950 while serving as a Combat Medic with the 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division.

He is the son of Mr.and Mrs. Elvin Bockhorn of Jackson County, Campbell Hill, Illinois, and a 1946 graduate of the Jackson County School System, and he enlisted with the Army on 7-27-1949 .
