The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC Billy Bryl Norris, US56088848, who died in the service of his country on May 26th, 1953 in North Korea. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Billy was 23 years of age. He was from Hampton, Tennessee. Billy's Military Occupation Specialty was 1745-Light Weapons Infantry Leader.

The decorations earned by PFC Billy Bryl Norris include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.




Billy was in my platoon. We were on patrol on the night of 26 May when a sniper hidden in a destroyed tank on Outpost Hedy shot him. He died instantly. The sniper was killed by a grenade thrown into the old tank. The tank photo can be found online under outpost Hedy, tank. (Al Matthews)
