The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, James M. Williams, RA14293674, who died in the service of his country on August 7th, 1950 in South Korea. The cause of death was listed as Died as result of missile wound received in action. At the time of his death James was 18 years of age. He was from Whistler, Alabama. James' Military Occupation Specialty was 345-Truck Driver Light.

The decorations earned by James M. Williams include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.


Private Williams was an engineer with the 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded by the enemy in South Korea on August 7, 1950 and died of those wounds later that day.

James entered the service 3 May 1948.
