The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PV2 Arnold Gonzalez, US55225240, who died in the service of his country on June 19th, 1952 in North Korea. The cause of death was listed as Seriously WIA by missile-Died of wounds (FECOM). At the time of his death Arnold was 21 years of age. He was from Detroit, Michigan. Arnold's Military Occupation Specialty was 4745-Light Weapons Infantryman.

The decorations earned by PV2 Arnold Gonzalez include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.


Private Gonzalez was a member of the 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded by the enemy in North Korea on June 19, 1952 and died of those wounds later that day.

Arnie Gonzalez married my Sister Mary Lou Halbritter. Mary Lou died from Leukemia Sep 20 1971. They had one son, Arnold Gonzalez, Jr who was born Oct 11 1951. (Ron Halbritter)
