The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, SGT William Arthur Bay, RA17254012, who died in the service of his country on April 24th, 1951 in South Korea. The cause of death was listed as MIA to KIA. At the time of his death William was 21 years of age. He was from Birch Tree, Missouri. William's Military Occupation Specialty was 1745-Light Weapons Infantry Leader.

The decorations earned by SGT William Arthur Bay include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.


Sergeant Bay was a member of the 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded by the enemy in North Korea on December 18, 1950 and returned to duty on March 2, 1951.

William was killed in fighting near the Hantan River. He enlisted 22 November 1949.
