The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, 2LT Luke Witt Loftus, who died in the service of his country on August 28th, 1918 in Nogales, AZ. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Luke was 23 years of age. He was from Laredo, Texas. 2nd Lt. Loftus, Luke W., male, White, single, birth date unknown, born in Texas. Father: unknown. Mother: Mrs. Sallie B. Loftus. I hereby certify that I attended deceased from August 27, 1918 to August 28, 1918; that I last saw him alive on August 28, 1918, and that death occurred on the date stated above at 8 A.M. the disease or injury causing death was as follows: Gunshot wound, perforating chest cavity and contents.
