The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, Tech5 Siegfreid Oberdorfer, who died in the service of his country on May 20th, 1943 in Guadalcanal. The cause of death was listed as Enemy Bombing Raid. At the time of his death Siegfreid was 30 years of age. He was from Los Angeles, California.

The decorations earned by Tech5 Siegfreid Oberdorfer include: the Combat Medical Badge, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.


Siegfreid was a native of Danzig, Germany and had not attained US citizenship before his enlistment on 25 February 1942.
