The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PVT James Taylor McDonnell, 39418764, who died in the service of his country on February 6th, 1945 in Luzon. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death James was 19 years of age. He was from Sutter County, California.

The decorations earned by PVT James Taylor McDonnell include: the Combat Medical Badge, the Silver Star, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.


James was a farmhand in civilian life. He was single.
He is buried in the Manila American Cemetery.

Prior to the service, James worked for Harter Canning Co. He enlisted 3 Feb 1943.
