The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC Francis Irwin, 37544515, who died in the service of his country on May 13th, 1945 in Luzon. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Francis was 27 years of age. He was from Raub, North Dakota.

The decorations earned by PFC Francis Irwin include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.

Francis was killed "in perimeter 200 yards east of Balete Pass."

Francis was a Native American, married to Flora, Black Tail, Wells. They had one daughter. He entered the service 28 December 1942.
