The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PVT Aaron Junior Bourland, who died in the service of his country on September 10th, 1943 in Vella Lavella, Kokolope Bay. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Aaron was 19 years of age. He was from Du Quoin, Illinois.

The decorations earned by PVT Aaron Junior Bourland include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.
