Shaker Heights Man Killed in Viet Fighting

A Shaker Heights man has been killed in Vietnam -- the 287th Greater Clevelander to die in action there.

Mr. And Mrs. Sam T. Culotta, 3362 Chalfant Road, were notified by the Defense Department that their son, Army PFC Anthony T. Culotta, died Wednesday of gunshot wounds.

PFC Culotta, 21, was drafted in January and sent to Vietnam in July. He was graduated from Shaker Heights High School in 1965.
Culotta worked in his fathers store, the Savemor Super Market, 3750 E. 116th Street.

Mrs. Culotta said her son was eagerly looking forward to a period of rest scheduled for later this month in Australia and that he had promised to call home from there.

Culotta is also survived by brothers Joseph and Salvatore and sisters Jinny Lynn and Sister Barbara Marie, a Dominican nun.
