The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC Rim Michael Dungey, who died in the service of his country on August 26th, 1967 in Quang Ngai Province, Vietnam. The cause of death was listed as Booby Trap. At the time of his death Rim was 21 years of age. He was from San Diego, California. Rim is honored on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Panel 25E, Line 46.

The decorations earned by PFC Rim Michael Dungey include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm Unit Citation.

Rim was one of the best. We trained together in La., and departed from Seattle via ship to Viet Nam. He loved So. Calif., and the outdoors. We arrived in Duc Pho - he was assigned to Co. D; I was in A Co. When I learned of his death, I was shocked - I thought more than anyone Rim would make it. He had many friends in our unit, and he cared about his family and girl friend back home.
