I REMEMBER ROGER
This was a fine young man who wanted to serve his country and he did it well. He had a huge smile and bright red hair and was just starting his young life when he was killed. I remember all the pain and heartache that was endured by family and neighbors after being notified that Roger had been killed. It was a horrible and very sad time as we waited for his body to be brought home to be finally laid to rest. I will never forget those days as we waited together as a community, taking turns and staying awake 24 hours a day WITH HIS FAMILY, until he arrived "back home."
