The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC Charles Crockett Howze, who died in the service of his country on December 2nd, 1969 in Pleiku Province, Vietnam. The cause of death was listed as Accident in Mortar Pit (Wounded 11-21-69). At the time of his death Charles was 20 years of age. He was from Edgemoor, South Carolina. Charles is honored on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Panel 15W, Line 17.

The decorations earned by PFC Charles Crockett Howze include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm Unit Citation.


Charles is buried at Zion Church Cemetery, Landford, SC
