The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, 1LT William Hoke Farmer Jr., who died in the service of his country on May 29th, 1967 in Quang Ngai Province, Vietnam. The cause of death was listed as Small Arms Fire. At the time of his death William was 27 years of age. He was from Fayetteville, North Carolina. William is honored on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Panel 21E, Line 012.

The decorations earned by 1LT William Hoke Farmer Jr. include: the Silver Star, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm Unit Citation.

William was attached to C, 2/35th from his parent unit, Battery C, 2/9th Artillery. Per offical records he was awarded the Silver Star but we do not have the citation.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.___

Full military funeral services for 1st Lt. William H. Farmer Jr., 27, who died May 29, of injuries in Vietnam, will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday from the chapel of Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home by the Rev. Kenneth Newton. Burial will be in Lafayette Memorial Park.

Surviving are his wife, Carletta V. Farmer of the home at Unit 19, Keithville, Fayetteville; a daughter, Lee Farmer of the home; his parents; Mr. and Mrs. William H. Farmer Sr., of Nicholson; a sister, Mrs. Martha L. Baldwin, Atlanta; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Anthony Zito, New York, N. Y.

Lt. Farmer served two years with the National Guard prior to entering active service in 1958. At the time of his death he was serving with Co. C, 2nd Bn., 35th Infantry, Third Brigade, Task Force, 25th Division, Vietnam. He formerly served with the 82d Airborne Division, Ft. Bragg, N. C.
