The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC Wesley Wayne Davis, who died in the service of his country on September 28th, 1970 in Phu Yen Province, Vietnam. The cause of death was listed as Small Arms/AW. At the time of his death Wesley was 20 years of age. He was from Queen Creek, Arizona. Wesley is honored on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Panel 7W, Line 97.

The decorations earned by PFC Wesley Wayne Davis include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm Unit Citation.


QUEEN CREEK - Services for Pvt. Wesley Wayne Davis, 20, who was killed in action September 28 in Vietnam, will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Queen Creek Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Friends may call today and tomorrow in Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet, Chandler. Burial with full military honors will be in Gardens of Peace Cemetery, Chandler.

Mr. Davis joined the Army this March and had been in Vietnam as a combat infantryman for six weeks. He was graduated from Chandler High School in 1967. He was born in El Paso.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Davis; and two brothers, Gary L. and John E., all of Queen Creek.
