The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, CPL John R. Baggi Jr, RA16295506, who died in the service of his country on October 24th, 1950 in South Korea. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death John was 18 years of age. He was from Hamtramck, Michigan. John's Military Occupation Specialty was 5729-Pioneer.

The decorations earned by CPL John R. Baggi Jr include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Silver Star, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.


Corporal Baggi was a member of the HHC, 3rd Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in South Korea on October 24, 1950. Corporal Baggi was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantrymans Badge,The Silver Star, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.

John is buried in Woodland National Cemetery, Elmira, NY
