The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, CPL Antonio Castrellon, RA19330483, who died in the service of his country on September 3rd, 1950 in South Korea. The cause of death was listed as MIA to KIA. At the time of his death Antonio was 21 years of age. He was from Los Angeles, California. Antonio's Military Occupation Specialty was 62c-Food Service Apprentice.

The decorations earned by CPL Antonio Castrellon include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.


CPL Antonio Castrellon was born in Texas in 1929 to Esteban Castrellon and Maria Jaramillo. In 1940 the Castrellon family were living in Los Angeles County, California. Antonio enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1948. He was a member of the 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was also known as "Tony".

He was taken Prisoner of War while fighting the enemy in South Korea on September 3, 1950. The following day on Sept. 4, 1950 he was Killed by a guard. (fatality unattributed)
