The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, CPL Donald G. Weir, RA15270044, who died in the service of his country on September 1st, 1950 in South Korea. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Donald was 20 years of age. He was from St. Clairsville, Ohio. Donald's Military Occupation Specialty was 4812-Heavy Weapons Infantryman.

The decorations earned by CPL Donald G. Weir include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Silver Star, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

CPL. DONALD WEIR KILLED IN KOREA

Mr and Mrs. George Weir of Shepardstown received a telegram Tuesday that their son, Corp. Donald, age 20, was killed in action in Korea on September second.

Donald was a graduate of St. Clairsville High School in the class of 1948.

He is survived by his parents and a sister, Joan, who is in training in the North Wheeling Hospital, and a brother, Jack who is a junior in St. Clairsville High School.

CPL. WEIRS BODY COMES FROM KOREA

The body of Cpl. Donald Weir, 20, son of George Jr. and Mary Lukacsko Weir of St. Clairsville route 2. The first casualty from the St. Clairsville area arrived Tuesday and will be removed to the Beck Funeral Home. From there it was taken to the late home near Shepardstown.

He was a graduate of St. Clairsville high school in the class of 1948 and enlisted on January 10, 1949, receiving his basic training in Fort Knox. He left for Japan in March of 1949 and in July of 1950 was sent to Korea. He served in the 35th Infantry Regiment of the 25th Division and was killed in action on September 1, 1950. He was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action on the day he was killed. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church of Fairpoint.

In addition to his parents there is a sister, Miss Audrey Joan Weir of Wheeling, a brother, John William, a senior at St. Clairsville high school and his grandparents, Mrs. Lukacsko and Mr. And Mrs. George Weir Sr., both of St. Clairsville Route 2.

The Rosary was recited at the family home Wednesday at 8 o'clock.
Requiem High Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph's Church at Fairpoint, Thursday morning at 10:30 o'clock with Rev. Cornelius F. Gallagher as celebrant. Interment will be in Union Cemetery at St. Clairsville with military honors accorded by the Adena and St. Clairsville Legion posts.
