The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, MSG Paul Padgett, RA34645621, who died in the service of his country on August 19th, 1950 in South Korea. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Paul was 26 years of age. He was from Pacolet Mills, South Carolina. Paul's Military Occupation Specialty was 1745-Light Weapons Infantry Leader.

The decorations earned by MSG Paul Padgett include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.


Paul was a WWII veteran and entered the service 15 February 1944.

Funeral services for Master Sgt. Paul Padgett, 26, of Pacolet Mills, SC, who was killed in Korea on Friday, Aug. 19, 1950, will be conducted on Sunday, Sep. 9, 1951 at 3 p.m., at Brown's Chapel Baptist Church but the Revs.. John L. Painter, W. T. Pate and J. T. Gregory. Interment will be in the White Rose Cemetery at Pacolet, SC, with full military rites. The body will be at the home at 13 Limestone Street, Pacolet, SC, after 10 1.m. on Saturday, Sep. 8, 1951. Sgt. Padgett was a native of Pacolet, SC and a textile employee before entering service. His body was returned to Spartanburg, SC this week. The J. F. Floyd Mortuary is in charge of arrangement.
