The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC Jose Arnaldo Amy-Santiago, US50113222, who died in the service of his country on December 27th, 1952 in North Korea. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Jose was 21 years of age. He was from Santa Isbel, Puerto Rico. Jose's Military Occupation Specialty was 1745-Light Weapons Infantry Leader.

The decorations earned by PFC Jose Arnaldo Amy-Santiago include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.


Private First Class Amy was a member of the 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on December 27, 1952. Private First Class Amy was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.

I KNEW HIM AS A CHILD AND HIS MOTHER JESUSA FROM SANTA ISABEL, P.R.HIS NICKNAME WAS FAYIN.HIS WHOLE NAME WAS JOSE ARNALDO AMY SANTIAGO.WE WENT TO COLLEGE TOGETHER,HE GOT HIS TEACHER DEGREE AT THE UNIVERSIDAD CATOLICA IN PONCE,P.R. ONE OF MY SON WAS NAMED JOSE ARNALDO BECAUSE OF HIM.I CAME WOUNDED FROM KOREA AND I WENT TO VISIT HIS MOTHER JESUSA AND SHE WAS LIKE CRAZY WHEN SHE SO ME.HE WAS HER ONLY CHILD. (Jose Rafael Mage)
