The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PV2 Pedro Ornelas, RA28103884, who died in the service of his country on July 27th, 1950 in South Korea. The cause of death was listed as MIA to KIA. At the time of his death Pedro was 20 years of age. He was from Los Angeles County, California.

The decorations earned by PV2 Pedro Ornelas include: the Combat Medical Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.


Private Ornelas was a medic with the Medical Company, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while tending his wounded comrades in South Korea on July 27, 1950. Private Ornelas was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Medical Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.

Pedro was likely attached to Baker Company.

Buried in the Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, CA. Section M Site 123.
