The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PV2 Jorge Guillermo Sanchez, US51102913, who died in the service of his country on October 31st, 1951 in North Korea. The cause of death was listed as Seriously WIA by missile-Died of wounds (FECOM). At the time of his death Jorge was 22 years of age. He was from New York County, New York. Jorge's Military Occupation Specialty was 4745-Light Weapons Infantryman.

The decorations earned by PV2 Jorge Guillermo Sanchez include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.


Private Sanchez was a member of HQ, HQ Company, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded by the enemy in North Korea on October 3, 1951 and died of those wounds on October 31, 1951. Private Sanchez was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantrymans Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
