The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, SFC Donald Wayne Arneson, RA20711579, who died in the service of his country on April 25th, 1951 in South Korea. The cause of death was listed as MIA to KIA. At the time of his death Donald was 29 years of age. He was from Hillsboro, North Dakota. Donald's Military Occupation Specialty was 1745-Light Weapons Infantry Leader.

The decorations earned by SFC Donald Wayne Arneson include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.


Master Sergeant Arneson was a member of Company C, 1st Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in South Korea on April 27, 1951. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. For his leadership and valor, Master Sergeant Arneson was awarded the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

Buried in the Ringsaker Cemetery in Cooperstown (Hillsboro), ND (this may just be a Memorial grave)
