The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, SGT Virgil Lyle Fisher, RA19353858, who died in the service of his country on April 5th, 1951 in South Korea. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Virgil was 19 years of age. He was from Seattle, Washington. Virgil's Military Occupation Specialty was 1745-Light Weapons Infantry Leader.
Sergeant Fisher was a member of the 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded by the enemy in South Korea on September 16, 1950 and returned to duty on November 14, 1950. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in South Korea on April 5, 1951. Sergeant Fisher was awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Combat Infantrymans Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
