The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, SP4 George Edward Tackett, who died in the service of his country on May 18th, 1969 in Kontum Province, Vietnam. The cause of death was listed as Multi-Frag. At the time of his death George was 20 years of age. He was from Olive Hill, Kentucky. George is honored on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Panel 24W, Line 50.

The decorations earned by SP4 George Edward Tackett include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm Unit Citation.

This is George Edward Tackett's Senior Photo. I was in the ninth grade when George came to our History class to see Mrs. Dunaway our teacher. When he left she said he was going to Vietnam. He never made it back!
