The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC Louis J. Cofrancesco Jr., who died in the service of his country on September 15th, 1968 in Quang Duc Province, Vietnam. The cause of death was listed as Booby-trapped Chicom Grenade. At the time of his death Louis was 20 years of age. He was from Paterson, New Jersey. Louis is honored on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Panel 44W, Line 67.

The decorations earned by PFC Louis J. Cofrancesco Jr. include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm Unit Citation.


Louis J. Cofrancesco, Jr. was born on June 8, 1948 to Louis and Lee Cofrancesco. Louis had two sisters, JoAnn and Arlene and a brother Richard. He graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Paterson. His favorite sports were football and basketball.

Louis is buried in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Patterson, NJ
