The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, SSG Herman Ray Cull, who died in the service of his country on June 9th, 1967 in Quang Ngai Province, Vietnam. The cause of death was listed as Accidental Self-Destruction. At the time of his death Herman was 25 years of age. He was from Fountain City, Indiana. Herman is honored on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Panel 21E, Line 77.

The decorations earned by SSG Herman Ray Cull include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Soldiers Medal, the Bronze Star with V, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm Unit Citation.


Herman was instructor at NCO academy when student dropped a life grenade and it detonated as Herman tried to throw it away.
