The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC Travis O. Mashburne, who died in the service of his country on January 13th, 1954 in South Korea. The cause of death was listed as Disarming Mines. At the time of his death Travis was 21 years of age. He was from Russville, Alabama.

The decorations earned by PFC Travis O. Mashburne include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Korea Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.


Private First Class Mashburne was a member of Company H, 2nd Battalion, 35th Infantry, 25th Infantry Division. He was mortally wounded while disarming enemy mines in South Korea on January 13, 1954. Private First Class Mashburne was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.
