The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, SGT Merlin Francis Peters, who died in the service of his country on October 21st, 1944 in New Caledonia. The cause of death was listed as Non-Hostile. At the time of his death Merlin was 21 years of age. He was from Green Bay, Wisconsin.

The decorations earned by SGT Merlin Francis Peters include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.


Merlin died from reaction to egg yolks during disease vaccinations. He worked for the Chicago and North Western Railroad prior to entering service.
