The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC Walter Jackson Hartsell Jr., 07083382, who died in the service of his country on May 30th, 1944 in The Pacific Campaign. The cause of death was listed as Unknown. At the time of his death Walter was 22 years of age. He was from Abbeville, South Carolina.

The decorations earned by PFC Walter Jackson Hartsell Jr. include: the Bronze Star, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.


Walter is buried in the Punchbowl in Honolulu. He died at Schofield, likely of illness.
