The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PVT Fred W. Hicks, 35211932, who died in the service of his country on January 12th, 1943 in Guadalcanal. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Fred was 19 years of age. He was from Cabell County, West Virginia.

The decorations earned by PVT Fred W. Hicks include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.

Fred is buried in the Punchbowl in Honolulu.
