The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PVT Paul L. Kestler, 35575961, who died in the service of his country on August 17th, 1943 in Vella Lavella. The cause of death was listed as KIA-Enemy Air Raid. At the time of his death Paul was 30 years of age. He was from Indianapolis, Indiana.

The decorations earned by PVT Paul L. Kestler include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.


Paul worked in the manufacturing of paper and pulp. He was married.
He is buried in the Manila American Cemetery
