The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC William Robert LeGarde, 39074725, who died in the service of his country on May 18th, 1945 in Luzon. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death William was 28 years of age. He was from Represa, California.

The decorations earned by PFC William Robert LeGarde include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.


William was a Native American of the Chippewa Tribe
He was born in Minnesota. He is buried in the Manila American Cemetery. He entered service 11 April 1944 from California. At that time he was employed by the Folson State Prison.
