The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PVT James Wayne Longley, 38731352, who died in the service of his country on April 18th, 1945 in Luzon. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death James was 21 years of age. He was from Magazine, Arkansas.

The decorations earned by PVT James Wayne Longley include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.


James worked as a farm hand in civilian life. He was single.
He is buried in the Manila American Cemetery.

Killed by Friendly Fire from Mortars.
