The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PVT Doyle E. McClain, 13049186, who died in the service of his country on August 15th, 1943 in Vella Lavella. The cause of death was listed as KIA-Enemy Air Raids. At the time of his death Doyle was 22 years of age. He was from Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.

The decorations earned by PVT Doyle E. McClain include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.

Doyle was single. He worked in a machine shop in civilian life.
He is buried in the Manila American Cemetery. He was HHC, 3rd Bn.
