The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PFC Clyde Walton Hanks, 34101107, who died in the service of his country on January 14th, 1943 in Guadalcanal. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Clyde was 23 years of age. He was from Etowah County, Alabama.

The decorations earned by PFC Clyde Walton Hanks include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.
