The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, SGT Otto Copas, 35259708, who died in the service of his country on October 11th, 1943 in Vella Lavella. The cause of death was listed as KIA-DOW. At the time of his death Otto was 34 years of age. He was from Frankfort, Indiana.

The decorations earned by SGT Otto Copas include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.

Lived in Clinton County Indiana

Civilian occupations were Semiskilled chauffeur and driver. At time of enlistment Otto was employed by Milner's Provision Company.

Otto is buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, Darlington, IN
