The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PVT Donald Wendell Gozzola, 36908740, who died in the service of his country on April 20th, 1945 in Luzon, The Philippines. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Donald was 23 years of age. He was from Chicago, Illinois.

The decorations earned by PVT Donald Wendell Gozzola include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.


Prior to his service, Donald worked for Jukes and Schaeffer.

father of Donald Jr., Russell and Ardy. The,son of Alphonse and Ruth, nee McKay,brother of James, Ruth, Richard and Ronnie.
Funeral Saturday, Aug. 14 at 9 a.m., from chapel, 3425 W. Chgo. avenue, to St. Matthews church.Interment Mount Carmel.
Military honors by Alamo post, 885, American Legion.
