The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PVT Charles W. Olsen, 39837165, who died in the service of his country on January 14th, 1943 in Guadalcanal. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Charles was 36 years of age. He was from Shasta County, California.

The decorations earned by PVT Charles W. Olsen include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.


Charles married at the time of his enlistment on 04/20/1942.
