The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes our fallen brother, PVT Louis Owen Theuerl, 33142875, who died in the service of his country on January 15th, 1943 in Luzon. The cause of death was listed as KIA. At the time of his death Louis was 37 years of age. He was from Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania.

The decorations earned by PVT Louis Owen Theuerl include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.


From the Beaver County Times May 2/8, 1943:

Pvt. Louis O. Theuerl, killed in the Pacific, in January 1943, is believed to be first from Beaver Falls to be killed in action as brother Frank O. Theuerl receives Purple Heart Medal.
