Summary: Log opened at 0001 hours 1 May 1969. Unit locations: At LZ Oasis grid ZA117277; Battalion Headquarters (Forward), A Company (-) at ZA082323; B Company at ZA090314; C Company at ZA101307; D Company at ZA103301; Recon platoon at ZA154228; 4.2 mortar platoon at LZ Oasis; Headquarters and Headquarters Company Support (S-4 Forward) at LZ Oasis; At Base Camp (Camp Enari); Battalion Headquarters (Rear).

At 0835 hours on 1 May 69 the Recon platoon found 1 hooch at ZA163217. They were not rice hooch's but more like weapons and ammo hooch. There was nothing in the hooch's and the platoon clover leafed to search the area. At 0900 hours on 1 May 69 Recon found another rice hooch 100 meters southeast of ZA163217. Size of hooch was 5' long by 3' width by 3' high and it was made of bamboo and pick command engineer stakes. The Recon platoon found 50 to 300 lbs. of unfinished rice in the hooch with a great deal of sandbags. At 0838 hours the Recon platoon found a hooch and a rice hooch 50 meters southeast of ZA163217. It could store 500 lbs. of rice and was 6' by 4' above ground. Inside they found 4 GI sandbags of rice and 1 gourd of corn. The hooch was new, used within the last 2 weeks. At 1359 hours on 1 may 69 the Recon platoon found a small cave at (ZA169218), 300 or 400 meters of that cave they found a trap 6 feet of bamboo sticks sharpened and spring loaded. The trap was set about waist high.

1835 hours (C) B Co found A Co's dog at ZA082313.

2315 hours (C) From Bde OIC/TOC to S-3 1/35th: Operation Green Typhoon will terminate upon initiation of Green Orange II. Once Green Orange II ends we will be called Typhoon II. G-3 will no longer suspend operation.
