Summary: Log opened at 0001 hours 23June 1969. Unit locations: At LZ Oasis grid ZA117277; Battalion Headquarters (Forward), 1/35th Command Post is at LZ Oasis ZA117277; A Company at ZA105466; B Company at ZA047439; C Company at ZA982285; D Company at ZA079459; Recon platoon is located at LZ Kathy; 4.2" mortar platoon located at LZ Kathy ZA048488; Headquarters and Headquarters Company Support (S-4 Forward) at LZ Oasis; At Base Camp (Camp Enari); Battalion Headquarters (Rear).

1045 hours (C) From D Co to TOC: At 067466 57 element spotted an individual wearing green fatigues and carrying weapon, 57 took him under fire and he fled to the south, will employ redleg to block him off and sweep area.

1050 hours (C) From D Co to TOC: CP at 075465 spotted several individuals with weapons running north will employ redleg as a blocking force.

1150 hours (C) From D Co to TOC: Redleg has been checked and D Co CP and 57 element are sending out patrols to sweep area where individuals were spotted.

1310 hours (C) From B Co to TOC: The Chaplain will not be available tomorrow for B Co Memorial services, passed to B Co.

1345 hours (C) From D Co to TOC: 57 and 33 element has swept areas where individuals were spotted, had negative findings.

1814 hours (C) From A Co to TOC: 13-97 spotted 1 dink enroute to N/L, recon by fire with M-79.

1820 hours (C) From B CO to TOC: 3 people, 1 man, 1 women and 1 girl walked into their perimeter. Retaining them so they won't go back to the village and tell possible VC.

1850 hours (C) From D Co location for 33A 077474, enroute to location, spotted 4 dinks, the dinks turned and ran southeast. They had 1 SKS, 1 GI fatigues, 1 camouflaged fatigues.

2035 hours (C) A Co 1397 hears 60mm tube popping approximate grid 115495 at 600 meters. 13 element heard same tube 78 degrees, 1000 meters. Impact is further away from the tube pop.

2101 hours (C) 6711 informs me the village is being attacked by VC. Pleik Rango Dogranng.
